History
1952
  • Hitachi Kakoh Co., Ltd. (ancestor of the company) was incorporated. Powder metallurgical products, colloidal graphite products, and others were produced in Tokyo Factory. This is regarded as inauguration of the company.
1963
1968
  • The parts business division of Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd. was separated as Hitachi Powdered Metals Co., Ltd.
1969
  • Hitachi Powdered Metals Co., Ltd. was merged with Japan Oil Impregnated Alloy Co., Ltd.
1979
  • Hitachi Powdered Metals (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. was incorporated in The Republic of Singapore.
1985
  • Katori Factory(At present, Katori business operation) was constructed in Katori-gun, Chiba Prefecture and the Chemical products Division was transferred from Matsudo Factory(At present, Matsudo business operation).
1987
  • Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Second Section.
  • Sintering Technologies, Inc. was incorporated in Indiana, U.S.A.
1995
  • The Chemical products Division received ISO 9001 certification.
  • Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, First Section.
1996
  • The Powdered metals Division was awarded TPM Prize (first prize).
1997
  • Hitachi Powdered Metals (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. took equity stake in Thai Sintered Products Co., Ltd in Thailand.
  • Katori business operation received ISO 14001 certification.
1998
  • The Powdered metals Division received ISO 9001 certification.
1999
  • Matsudo business operations received ISO 14001 certification.
  • Powdered Metal Production operation of Nissan Motor at their Yokohama plant was transferred to us and established as its Yokohama Factory(After changing its name into Yokohama Production Dept. , it was absorbed into the part of Katori Business operation in the organization in February 2002.).
2002
  • Yokohama Factory was absorbed into Katori Business operation in order to improve the efficiency.
2004
  • Hitachi Powdered Metals (Dongguan) Co., Ltd. was incorporated in Dong Guan City, China.
2008
  • With take-over bid by Hitachi Chemical Co. Ltd. and stock swap, we became the 100% subsidiary of the company and abolished the presentation of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2010
  • With transfer and integration of our sales, business planning and R&D divisions relating to powder metallurgical products and chemical products to Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd. ,we continue to manufacture such products.
  • Hitachi Powdered Metals (Thailand) Co., Ltd.(HPMT) was incorporated in Thailand.
    Thai Sintered Products Co., Ltd. transferred its entire business and operations to HPMT and was dissolved and liquidated.
